**POSITION SUMMARY**

The Public Relations (PR) Coordinator will provide assistance and support to Marriott International’s Middle East & Africa Communications team. The Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the press office through the management of key daily administrative tasks for the team.

**SCOPE**

The PR Coordinator will be a key contributor to Marriott International’s PR activity for the region. The coordinator will handle administration and coordination responsibilities while also supporting the team in developing newsworthy content, collaborating on strategic consumer and brand campaigns and building awareness of the company’s corporate news and initiatives

Location: Dubai, UAE – Hybrid working; two days a week in the office at minimum

**EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS**

+ **Press Office.** Act as a point of contact for media enquiries, image and accommodation requests. Respond quickly and accurately to day-to-day journalist and social influencer enquiries and accommodation requests.

+ **Press Materials.** Support drafting of press releases, fact sheets, media alerts, pitches for internal and external distribution within the region. Coordinate with market/ hotel teams to compile content for opportunities.

+ **Administration.** Assist with billing and invoicing for costs incurred by the team, along with other admin responsibilities. Read and review newspapers, online magazines and social media on a regular basis and share new trends with the rest of the team. Take responsibility for PR office administration and documentation, including filing newspapers and magazines and managing subscriptions.

+ **Measurement/ Reporting** . Measure results of PR campaigns/programmes in alignment with EMEA Continent Communications team key performance indicators (KPIs), leverage media monitoring & measurement tool for print/online. Coordinate with agency network to complete coverage and recap reports on a monthly basis.

+ **Internal Communications:** Share articles, stories, case studies and images of market stories of internal comms interest with the EMEA Internal Comms team.

+ **Social Media.** Support the management and content development for the MEA PR Instagram channel.

+ **EMEA Newsletter.** Contribute stories to the monthly regional version of the EMEA media newsletter

+ **Demand Generation Pitches.** Tailor pitchers from the EMEA Consumer PR team to be relevant for MEA market media

+ **EMEA Media Centre.** Support with the prompt uploading of press releases and images for key hotel, brand and Marriott International stories of interest to market media.

+ **Media/ Influencer Engagement.** Support the team with the organisation of inbound and outbound press trips. Manage administrative tasks such as booking of travel, rooms, press stay confirmation letters and itineraries. Maintain records and track coverage of all press trips organised by the MEA Communications team. Develop relationships media and influencer for future opportunities.

+ **Photo/Film Shoots.** Support the MEA hotels when working with film houses, TV companies and location scouts using hotels as a venues for filming and photo shoots which generate either key media/ social media exposure and/or revenue opportunities for the hotel. Give guidance on suitable fees, filming contracts, and how to manage film/photo shoots to ensure that our hotels and brands are portrayed favourably.

CANDIDATE PROFILE – KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED

Experience

+ Minimum 1 year experience of public relations and/or marketing communications experience, preferably within the travel / hospitality / lifestyle sector.

+ Hotel/ hospitality experience preferred.

+ Experience and ability to manage the interests and demands of multiple stakeholders.

Education or Certification

+ University degree

+ Or equivalent in Public Relations / Communications / Marketing

Skills and Competencies

+ Strong command of English – both written & spoken

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written & spoken

+ Interest in and knowledge of traditional and online media, digital influencer relations and social media

+ Interest in and knowledge of current trends within travel, food and drink, hospitality industry

+ Strong team player

+ Able to use initiative

+ A creative thinker with an eye for detail

+ Willingness to learn and get involved

+ High degree of personal loyalty and integrity

+ Well organised and able to multi-task and prioritise workload

+ Proficient MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
